Sutalkerah was first formed around 2014 by italian immigrant Iacopo D'Alessandro after moving to London from Rome the year prior.
The idea was the follow up to previous band experiences while still living in Italy: Mantick (progressive metal) and Hatesound (started as a Sepultura/Soulfly cover band with the intent of becoming what later ended up being Sutalkerah).
The initial sound was in fact heavily influenced by the more “tribal” discography of Max Cavalera, but than ended morphing and embracing a more “progressive” soul looking to let inspiration free and with as less limitations as possible, by trying not to use always the same song structure or sound, therefore trying to make songs always slightly different between each other and using instruments that are by some still considered unorthodox for metal music ( I KNOW RIGHT?), but still united somehow by an underlying thread.
There Has been many lineup changes between 2014 and 2017 and many gigs in UK but especially the London area, than due to divergent point of views between band members about the band sound and the internal management of tasks, a split happened leaving Iacopo to rebuild everything from ashes, a long process researching for new bandmates which started to get some results in 2018/2019 only to be than ulteriorly slowed down by Covid-19.
April 2022 Sutalkerah finally released the first EP – Songs from the Grave – Death and Rebirth pt1 - with the new lineup which now include:
|Iacopo (Rhythm guitar/ Backing vocals)
Lukasz (Bass)
Howard (Drums)
The name of the EP is a hopefull exorcism to all the missed occasions of the past and includes a batch of 4 of the oldest Sutalkerah's songs with the promise of releasing more material asap.
