Sutalkerah was first formed around 2014 by italian immigrant Iacopo D'Alessandro after moving to London from Rome the year prior.

The idea was the follow up to previous band experiences while still living in Italy: Mantick (progressive metal) and Hatesound (started as a Sepultura/Soulfly cover band with the intent of becoming what later ended up being Sutalkerah).

The initial sound was in fact heavily influenced by the more “tribal” discography of Max Cavalera, but than ended morphing and embracing a more “progressive” soul looking to let inspiration free and with as less limitations as possible, by trying not to use always the same song structure or sound, therefore trying to make songs always slightly different between each other and using instruments that are by some still considered unorthodox for metal music ( I KNOW RIGHT?), but still united somehow by an underlying thread.

There Has been many lineup changes between 2014 and 2017 and many gigs in UK but especially the London area, than due to divergent point of views between band members about the band sound and the internal management of tasks, a split happened leaving Iacopo to rebuild everything from ashes, a long process researching for new bandmates which started to get some results in 2018/2019 only to be than ulteriorly slowed down by Covid-19.

April 2022 Sutalkerah finally released the first EP – Songs from the Grave – Death and Rebirth pt1 - with the new lineup which now include:

|Iacopo (Rhythm guitar/ Backing vocals)

Lukasz (Bass)

Howard (Drums)

The name of the EP is a hopefull exorcism to all the missed occasions of the past and includes a batch of 4 of the oldest Sutalkerah's songs with the promise of releasing more material asap.

Iacopo D'Alessandro

Rhythm Guitarist/ Songwriter

Born in Rome in 1987, from humble Jehova's Witness family, I received a very strict religious
education, so strict that this, altogether with the bullying constantly received while being raised,
quickly brought me to get closer and closer to progressively more aggressive sounds as a relief for
the frustration and emotional damage accumulated.
Fond of both visual and sonic arts from a very young age, as a safehome to shelter from a solitary
childhood, music and drawing was always the medicine, it is during teenage years that I finally
decided to pickup guitar, and this over time got me further from visual arts and more focused about
what I than found out to be my biggest passion: Music.
Never really studied theory too much, I use my ears and my heart to compose rather than
knowledge. It is not necessarily the “right” way, but it's mine.

Lukasz Opitek

Bassist

And Married with a baby daughter

Bassist for Sutalkerah

Joined the band in 2020 after meeting Iacopo in Yamaha superstore London.

Formerly a guitar Player that started to play bass when he joined a band called Johnny Can’t Dance.

We did lots of gigs around London in many different venues that I’ve gained lots of stage experience from. After JCD I’ve tried to join/create a few bands with different people but nothing successful.

Like:

Good music in good venue, good food and drink with great company. Like to travel and explore new places.

Dislike:

Lateness, time wasters.

Vocaist

Hi I’m Zack, and I’m from the south east of England from a little seaside town called Hastings.

My hobbies are music, gaming and football.

Music has been a pretty big part of my life and I’ve been listening to music my whole life. Metal is my main genre and my inspirations are Metallica, trivium, bleed from within, lamb of god and paleface Swiss plus many more.

I started out playing guitar and always wanted to be a guitar player, but over time listening to more heavy music I instantly fell in love with screaming and from that day I started practicing and couldn’t get anywhere. Took me 4 years to get where I am now today and still learning how to do it with special techniques.

I look forward to the future with sutalkerah and really want our band to break through and play on the main stages 🤘
